Renewable Energy Credits (REC) and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Broker, London, £100k+

My client is a leading brokerage house with a particularly strong focus in the emissions, renewable energy and conventional energy markets. One of the most successful business areas is the GHG (Greenhouse Gas) business, which now has an exciting opening in their London based office.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Brokerage: Acting as broker and consultant for global CDM, JI and VER markets
• Identification of suitable CDM, JI and VER projects on clients\' behalf
• Business Development: Managing and building a client base of clients in the UK, Europe and Asia; developing and implementing a deliverable business strategy
• Solutions: Understanding clients\' needs and challenges, and coming up with creative solutions.
• Relationship Management: Assisting in team performance through regular communication with colleagues to establish and raise concerns and provide solutions; working closely with the origination and project management teams across the GHG group globally; speaking to DOEs (Designated Operational Entities)
• Maintaining & developing personal knowledge and skills through continued professional development as well as ongoing desk training.
• Acting as a brand ambassador for the company.
• Taking the overall responsibility for structuring and executing of carbon credits globally

Skills/qualifications required:

• Experience of closing REC / GHG deals, in compliance and voluntary.
• Knowledge / Experience of power products, PPA also needed.
• At least three years financial services and/or energy or environmental brokerage related experience.
• Quick learner, high energy, keen team player with excellent verbal communication skills.
• IT Skills: Office applications; accurate data input skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis and deal with business contacts and clients across cultures
• Significant (VP level only and above) experience: carbon market and/or CDM project management (managing relationships, project management and development and developing new business/origination)
